If you’re still using the older OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, OnePlus has great news for you.
The company earlier this week launched a closed beta programme for its older smartphones, allowing users to access its upcoming Pie update in advance. The closed beta programme essentially means users can sign up to access the beta software. Note that the early custom builds usually have multiple bugs and may affect performance of the phone.
Key takeaway is that Android Pie is finally coming to the older OnePlus phones. Initially, it might be available as beta before a stable version is rolled out to all users. OnePlus had announced plans to roll out Android Pie last year but evidently it has been delayed. Its OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T received Android Pie update in December last year.
The Android Pie update will bring a range of new features including new interface, new text notification mode and support for notifications from third-party calls. OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users will also receive Google Lens integration in the default camera.
OnePlus 7
With OnePlus 7, OnePlus will introduce gradient design and new colour options. The phone will also debut pop-up selfie camera on OnePlus phones. According to reports, OnePlus 7 will launch with triple-rear camera setup including a 48-megapixel sensor.
OnePlus 7 is expected to launch with a larger 6.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 16-megapixel selfie camera, and up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
