Asante Kotoko legend Opoku Nti has expressed strong criticism towards current players, attributing the team's recent poor results to their inability to meet the standards expected of the Porcupine Warriors.

With Kotoko enduring a seven-game winless streak, pressure has intensified on head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and the squad.

Nti believes that some players are not performing at the level required by the prestigious club, leading to subpar performances on the field.

"Kotoko should always aim for the best players because of the high expectations and standards associated with the club.

However, the performance of some players clearly indicates that they do not possess the caliber required by Kotoko," Nti stated in an interview with Connect FM.

He emphasized the importance of players putting in extra effort to meet the club's standards and deliver the desired results.

Nti highlighted the disparity in mentality between current players and those from his era, suggesting that some players may lack the drive and ambition necessary for success.

Nti also expressed concern about complacency among players, noting that a lack of competition within the team could negatively impact its overall standard.

He urged players to adopt a more competitive mindset and strive for excellence, rather than settling for mediocrity.
