Founder of Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev Christian Kwabena Andrews also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has slammed Prophet Owusu Bempah, leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International for throwing his weight behind John Dramani Mahama ahead of December 7 elections.
Speaking in an interview, Osofo Kyiri Abosom called Owusu Bempah a hypocrite because “he is toying with the mindset of Ghanaians.”
According to the GUM flagbearer, the controversial prophet is supporting Mr. Mahama because he [Owusu Bempah] is disappointed in President Akufo-Addo for not fulfilling a promise he made to him in 2020.
“Owusu Bempah is selfish and a hypocrite. He has left Nana Addo for someone he claimed had blood on his hands [during 2020 elections] Owusu Bempah has cancelled the NPP because he wanted Nana Addo to build a church for him and that didn’t happen. He is fake… it means he doesn’t speak the truth… he is not crying for the nation… he should build the church himself than rely on Akufo-Addo,” the GUM leader said.
He continued that, “He is always changing his colours… God doesn’t lie. If God will change his mind, it is not this way. I don’t think he should treat Ghanaians that way… It is not because I am standing to become President. Ghanaians should know these leaders are fake, Ghanaians should focus.”
Meanwhile, Rev. Owusu Bempah, Sam Korankye Ankrah, and Rev Obofour among others formed part of the pastors who graced former President John Dramani Mahama’s meeting with the clergy, that took place at East Legon on October 1, 2024.
During the event, Rev Owusu Bempah anointed the ex-president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), touting him as the next First Man of the country, ordained by God’s prophecy.
The prophecy came as a shock to many because in the past 2016 and 2020 elections, he declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as winners ahead of the polls.
