OSP releases court schedule for high-profile criminal cases in early 2026

Several criminal cases involving multiple defendants are set to return to court in the first quarter of 2026, as Ghana’s judicial process continues with a series of hearings scheduled for January, February, and March.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, released a detailed calendar outlining the next hearing dates for a number of ongoing prosecutions, many of which have drawn significant public interest.
According to the schedule, The Republic v. Kenneth Ofori-Atta and seven others is fixed for hearing on January 29, 2026.
Another major case, The Republic v. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid and nine others, will span several days, with proceedings set for February 2, 9, 12, 17, 19, and 23 — signalling an intensive phase of courtroom action.
Meanwhile, The Republic v. Adjenim Boateng Adjei will be heard on January 27, 28, and 29.
In March, the case of The Republic v. Sumaila Abdul Rahman, Stephen Yir-Eru Engmen, Patrick Seidu, and Andrew Kuundaari is scheduled for March 9.
Other matters listed by the OSP include:
- The Republic v. Charles Bissue and two others — January 28, February 3 and 4
- The Republic v. Issah Seidu and three others — February 9
- The Republic v. Ibrahim Kofi Sessah and another — February 11
The OSP noted that the dates mark the next phases of the judicial process in the respective cases and pledged to keep the public informed as proceedings unfold.
