Member of the 2014 Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has launched a stinging criticism of Black Stars coach Otto Addo, insisting the 50-year-old is unqualified to lead Ghana’s senior national team.

Addo, reappointed in March 2024, has faced intense scrutiny after failing to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). His recent struggles continued in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with shaky displays against Chad and Mali in the September international window.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has since moved to strengthen the technical setup, appointing experienced German coach and AFCON winner Winfried Schäfer as technical advisor.

But Foh-Amoaning, a respected lawyer, believes the move only highlights Addo’s inadequacies.

“Otto Addo is not fit for the Black Stars job,” he told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM. “He is a scout coach, learning on the job like doing National Service. The GFA knows this, and that is the reason why they have brought in Winfried Schäfer to improve the technical team’s quality.”

Despite the criticism, the Black Stars sit top of Group I with 19 points and will look to seal World Cup qualification when they face Central African Republic and Comoros in October.
