Ghana's head coach, Otto Addo, has made notable alterations to the national team's lineup for today’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Niger, replacing six players.
Terry Yegbe, Francis Abu, Isaac Afful, Nathaniel Adjei, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer, and Ernest Numah will all make their appearances in place of Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, Elisha Owusu, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Michael Baidoo, and Jordan Ayew.
Goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen will retain his position, while Razak Simpson, Kingsley Schindler, Ibrahim Sulemana, and Mohammed Kudus also remain in the starting XI.
With Ghana already out of contention for next year’s tournament, Coach Addo is focused on ending the qualifiers on a positive note.
“We want to beat them (Niger) for our honor and for third place,” he said, with the team currently sitting fourth in Group F with three points after five matches.
The match is set to kick off at 16:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18, 2024.
