Ghana coach Otto Addo has appealed to Ghanaian football fans for patience as he continues to develop a team for the future.

His call came after the Black Stars' hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic in their matchday four game of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday night.

Jordan Ayew was the star of the match, scoring a hat trick, while Abdul Fatawu added another goal for Ghana.

Despite these offensive successes, defensive lapses allowed Louis Mafouta to score a hat trick for the Wild Beasts, highlighting areas needing improvement.

Addo acknowledged these challenges in his post-match press conference, emphasizing the need for time and patience to build a cohesive and strong squad.

"Rome wasn't built in a day. It takes time to build a team, and we will need time," said the 43-year-old coach.

"We have young players who will grow and adapt."

He reiterated the importance of patience from fans as the current group of players matures and adjusts to his new system.

Addo's approach focuses on long-term development, understanding that building a competitive team involves nurturing young talent and refining team dynamics.

Following the win, Ghana now sits atop Group I with nine points after four games, holding a three-point lead over Madagascar and Comoros, who each have a game in hand.

Addo's emphasis on patience and gradual improvement aims to ensure sustained success for the Black Stars as they continue their quest for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
