Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has pledged to enhance the team’s finishing skills as they prepare for the second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan.

The Ghanaian national team played to a frustrating 0-0 draw in the first leg, where they squandered several scoring opportunities despite delivering a strong overall performance.

Addo noted the team's commendable defensive efforts and collective spirit but acknowledged the inability to convert chances into goals.

“We showed good defensive discipline and passion, but we simply failed to finish our actions,” he remarked after the match.

With the return fixture set for Tuesday, October 15, Addo emphasized the importance of sharpening their attacking play.

“We will certainly focus on training our finishing and instilling confidence in the players. That was the only aspect we were missing,” he added.

The Black Stars will head to the Martyrs of February Stadium for the decisive match, which kicks off at 13:00 GMT.

Currently sitting third in their group with just two points from three matches, securing a victory is essential for Ghana to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the tournament in Morocco next year.
