Gariba Mohammed a Ghanaian who plies his trade for Ivorian side San Pedro says he was elated when his side were drawn to play a team from his homeland.

Kotoko have been paired to play little known Ivorian side San Pedro for a place in the group stage of the Caf Confederations Cup.

The Porcupine warriors dropped from the Caf Champions league after been eliminated by Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel and for their rewards will play San Pedro for a bite of cherry in Africa's second tier competition.

"I got excited upon hearing San Pedro will play Asante Kotoko in the play off of the CAF Confederations Cup,a club from my homeland."

He says his team is made up of relatively young inexperienced players as the majority of the experienced ones have been transfer listed.

The midfielder confessed that his outfit were scared to the marrow upon hearing they will face Asante Kotoko in the knock out stage.

"However a lot of our players are scared about it due to the stature of Asante Kotoko in Africa."

"Half of our experienced players left after the season and our team is dominated by inexperienced lads."

"The about 60% youth players lack the exposure at this level. This is not to deceive Kotoko, its the reality." he said.
