Mr. Obiri Boahen, former deputy general secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has described Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah’s prophecy as insignificant and having no substantial impact on the outcome of the impending December 7 presidential and legislative elections.

He remarked that the victory of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will not be based on predictions or prophecies.

The private legal practitioner speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM said the NPP will win the elections with or without the involvement of Rev. Owusu-Bempah.

“My Bawumia is winning, and we will surprise former President John Dramani Mahama. We are winning, whether or not Owusu-Bempah is present. Who cares whether Owusu-Bempah is present or absent? He is not the only prophet who has contributed to the NPP’s win. Go to Kumasi; there is someone named Olumba Olumba who has been praying for the NPP. Who is Owusu-Bempah? Please give us a rest. The country is not bound to a single religion.

There are Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, and Traditionalists, thus we do not practise a single religion. If you believe Owusu-Bempah is your Alpha and Omega, that is your problem, and it will not concern the NPP. I will not criticise anyone’s religion, but we must not limit the concept of God to the Christian faith. We’re sick and tired of all these suggestions and opinions.”

In response to the multiple opinion polls that have forecast a victory for former President John Dramani Mahama, he stated that these polls will not accurately reflect the election.

“The bottom line is that the NPP does not rely; they do not depend; they do not survive on opinion polls. We survive on our own strength, hard work, and the grace of God Almighty. So if InfoAnalytics and the others have predicted victory for the NDC and you trust in them, so be it. But the NPP does not survive on these things.”
