Ghanaian winger Christian Antwi-Adjei will depart his Bundesliga II side Paderborn when the current season comes to an end.

The 27 year old will have his four year contract signed in 2017 elapse at the end of the current season with both sides not keen to renew it.

He has been offered the chance to stay at Paderborn with a new contract tabled before him but the player is yet to put pen to paper as he weighs his options.

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on even the biggest of clubs in the world and the tiny Paderborn is no different as they are reeling from the financial hit and are unable to offer big contracts.

He is not the only person who may depart the club as current coach Steffen Baumgart is weighing his future as he is yet to renew his expiring contract.

The German born Ghanaian can leave as  a free agent in the summer and can begin negotiating with clubs outside Germany.

Sporting Director Fabian Wohlgemuth says the club is stretched financially and it could lead to a lot of exodus.

Antwi-Adjei has made 28 appearances for the Paderborn this season and has scored three goals and registered one assist.
