The International Paralympics Committee (IPC) has honored two sports journalists from Ghana at the just ended Paralympic Games in Tokyo-Japan.

The two sports journalists are Theophilus Sampah of GTV and Akakpo Agodji of Ashh fm in kumasi.

They were awarded with certificates of participation in recognition and appreciation of their contribution to the success of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Mr. Akakpo Agodji in an interview with GNA sports, expressed gratitude for the recognition given them by IPC and that it was a great pleasure to be part of the tournament.He said, the gesture would further stimulate and encourage him to work harder going forward adding that it was also an indication that there was more work ahead of them.

The 2020 Paralympics Games which was scheduled be played between 25 August and 6 September 2020, was later postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic was played behind closed doors.

Three athletes represented Ghana in the 2020 Paralympic Games included, Para powerlifter Emmanuel Nii Tetteh Oku, Para cyclist Frederick Assor and Para High Jumper Yusif Amadu.

However, Nii Tetteh Oku has qualified for the 2022 Commonwealth games in UK Birmingham.
