Young Ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Awua Ankrah was adjudged the best player of the tournament during the Vignola pre-season tournament with club's from the primavera division in Italy.

The Drobo born led his Parma side to lift the trophy after the match reached penalty shoot out against Bologna in the final.

There were eight teams involved in the competition with Sassuolo, Spal, Fiorentina, Reggiana, Modena and Vincente all involved.

Parma's Primavera captain played multiple roles during the tournament. Occasionally deployed in the middle of the park, Awua also excelled at a right-back and a centre back. Lasting every minute of three matches.

The Vignola tournament also had other Ghanaian counterparts including  Salim Abubakar and Justin Kumi of Sassuolo as they prepare ahead of the upcoming season.

Italy's Primavera division will kick start this Saturday where Ahmed Awua will play against Abubakar and Kumi when Parma lock horns against Sassuolo.
