The criminals were demanding a KSh 5 million ranson from Waitherero’s family before they could release her, with police sources confirming that the woman’s husband had sent part of the ransom.

There was a heavy police presence of uniformed police officers and others in plain clothes who maintained surveillance during the burial, with hope that accomplices in crime of the deceased could attend their final farewell.

Mo eulogy was read during the ceremony.

Locals called on the police to beef up security in the village as insecurity levels were on the rise.
