New Liverpool signing, Jeremie Frimpong will be hosting a tournament and job fair in Ghana.

Ghanaian-Dutch international, Jeremie Frimpong will be hosting a tournament and job fair in Ghana under his Non-Governmental Organization dubbed the Pathways Project where he will partner with local and international organizations and brands to have the event held in Accra. He initially had similar events in three different countries earlier as he had the Germany edition in Cologne, as well as the Netherlands edition in Amsterdam and the UK edition in Manchester.

The tournament and job fair is scheduled to be staged at the AIS Sports Complex in East Legon, Accra on Saturday, June 28 2025.

Pathways Project

The new Liverpool signing began the “Pathway Project” in 2024 with the aim of helping footballers who were unable to get to professional level in the sport to find their feet in other equally lucrative and befitting fields without losing themselves.

The former Bayer Leverkusen wing back who moved to Liverpool in this summer transfer window in a staggering €40m deal will be in Accra, Ghana to oversee the proceedings of the tournament and its ancilliary programs under the “Pathways Project”

Speaking to Football Made in Ghana, the Ghana Regional Manager, Kirpal Aboagye-Donkor explained the mission and vision of th Pathways Project being hosted in Ghana:

“Pathways Project is a non-profit organization formed by Jeremie Frimpong to help footballers who are unable to play football to the highest level find other passions and build on them and earn a living even as football could not go well.” Aboagye-Donkor said.

When asked about what career paths are available for such footballers, Aboagye explained:

“Players who have not been able to make it in football and are willing to be guided in diversifying will be trained in sectors like PR, Tech, Business and other paths.”

“Also, there will be a Pathways Football Community to periodically talk about how to go about issues concerning mental health and how football has evolved as time went by and what they can do to abreast themselves with the development of the game— still a way to curbing societal vices and help make all those football players who could not make it Pro become useful in society— that is our aim.” Aboagye added.

Talking about the way forward for such beneficiaries, Aboagye added that there is a big plan for them:

“We have partnered with other companies and institutions who are willing and ready to provide training and guidance for our beneficiaries in their strides to finding a new passion as there will job opportunities for them once they have completed trainings and are ready for the job market.”

The Pathways tournament under the Pathways Project which is scheduled for Saturday, June 28 will feature a host of celebrities, influencers, artists, footballers and other distinguished figures in attendance as well as brands and companies.
