Ghana and Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew is likely to be handed a starting berth when his side plays Fulham later today as the  English Premier League returns.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira gave the slightest hint when he spoke to the press about the match which comes off today.

Major leagues in the World were put on ice for six weeks due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup which was hosted by Qatar.

Jordan Ayew played for Ghana at the Mundial where he shone in Ghana's 3-2 win over Korea but is now with his club side.

"[Jordan Ayew and Joachim Andersen] are good. After they went out of the World Cup they had a couple of days and have been back in training since. They’re really good mentally, physically and are ready to go again," Patrick Vieira told the club's official website.

"The two players we had came back in really good shape; mentally they were good. Looking at the [League Cup] game between Liverpool and Man City, the [other World Cup] players are in a good place."
