Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has advised West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui to swiftly resolve any dressing room tensions following a reported confrontation involving Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghanaian midfielder displayed visible frustration after being substituted in West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Brentford on September 28, fueling speculation about unrest within the squad.

Robinson emphasized the importance of handling such issues privately, cautioning against letting disputes spill into public view.

"As much as he may not agree with it, you talk to him behind closed doors, you talk to him in the dressing room. A public show like that is not the done thing," Robinson said, referring to Kudus’ reaction.

The timing of the incident coincided with West Ham’s sluggish start to the season, intensifying pressure on Lopetegui.

However, the team rebounded with a 4-1 win over Ipswich Town, in which Kudus found the back of the net, providing some relief to the club’s early struggles.

"We don’t know if this is an issue that’s been bubbling away in the background, but Lopetegui needs to put it to bed so they can both move on," Robinson added.

He expressed confidence that the incident was likely a case of one player's frustration, rather than a sign that the manager had lost control of the dressing room.

Kudus is currently on international duty with Ghana, preparing for crucial 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan, where he will look to put the club tensions behind him and focus on national team duties.
