I wrote on Monday that I was waiting to hear how the NPP folks who defended PDS will come and defend its termination as well, and bam, they are on radio and TV, defending the termination of the madness called PDS. It is all because of how they criminally organized their enterprise to hand over a GHC22 billion worth of assets to one family and friends. Ask yourself why the latest letter from Ken Ofori-Atta was leaked but the NPP are happy circulating a supposed letter from America to reinstate PDS. Shameless people.

They are defending by saying it was the government that detected the fraud in the contract and so Ghanaians should clap for them. The truth is the fraud in the PDS came up when a letter was written by Ken Ofori-Atta to Lawyer Akoto Ampaw to restructure the share holdings of PDS. Some people were not happy and for obvious reasons the Herald Newspaper and some employees of Electricity Corporation picked up the story. Hon. John Jinapor wrote to the government about how bad the agreement was but as usual, the government denied everything until pressure started coming from the international community to investigate the fraud.

Ghanaians have accused the NPP of giving the PDS concession to Nana Addo’s family and friends. The silly argument by the NPP is that if the concession was given to Nana’s families, how come Nana Addo has ordered for its termination? The truth is that even if the whole concession was given to Nana Addo’s father alone, he would have no choice but cancel it because the Americans asked him to do so. The international disgrace by this useless government is like a country without leadership.

Another silly defense out there is that no money was lost to the state because the contract was suspended and then terminated. Wasn’t it Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, an NPP, who told us the criminals in the PDS scandal contributed zero dollars towards the investment when in actual fact they should have contributed at least $500,000? Were the criminals not using the money they collected from electricity bills to pay for their investment? They collected millions of dollars over the period. Have they accounted to anybody? Is this not a sophisticated thievery?

One more silly defense is that we should not make this PDS fraud a political one. When they finish saying that, they continue to say Ghanaians should be lucky to have a courageous President, who terminated an agreement when he detected fraud. It is like they just spoke but didn’t listen to themselves. Or they think they just spoke to idiots.

When all the silly defenses are exhausted, they turn to blame the Financial Advisors who advised them to accept the insurance guarantee from Al-Koot Insurance Company.

To make it simple and short, this PDS fraud, criminal and thievery can never be solved by the NPP government who got us into this mess. If we really want to get to the bottom of this mess, we have to change this family and friends incompetent government in 2020.
