Petrocub Hîncești, the reigning Moldovan champions, have announced the departure of Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah from his role within the club's leadership structure.

Earlier this year, Nana Yaw Amponsah and his Samaritan Investment Group were brought in to oversee the affairs of the Municipal Stadium outfit, with Amponsah assuming the role of club president.

His appointment marked a significant chapter for Petrocub Hîncești, promising a transformative period for the club.

Under his leadership, Petrocub Hîncești achieved historic milestones by securing their first Moldovan Premier League title and winning the Moldovan Cup in the recently concluded season.

However, disagreements over the club's direction led to a contentious dispute between Nana Yaw Amponsah and the Petrocub Hîncești board of directors.

This ultimately resulted in the termination of their contract.

Prior to his tenure with Petrocub Hîncești, Nana Yaw Amponsah had served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko, a position he held from 2020 until his departure the previous year. During his time with Kotoko, he successfully guided the club to one Ghana Premier League title.

The decision to part ways with Amponsah underscores the challenges faced in aligning visions between club leadership and external administrators, marking a significant development in the club's recent history.
