Motorists and consumers in Ghana are set to enjoy some relief at the pumps before the end of December 2025, as petroleum product prices are projected to decline during the second pricing window of the month.

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) has indicated that petrol prices are likely to fall by around 3.89 percent, while diesel is expected to drop by approximately 4.59 percent. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is also forecasted to decrease by 2.16 percent, offering further relief to households.

Current retail prices as of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, show that Star Oil, the leading Oil Marketing Company (OMC), is selling petrol at GH¢11.95 per litre and diesel at GH¢12.79 per litre. Goil is selling petrol at GH¢12.62 and diesel at GH¢13.20, while Petrosol’s rates stand at GH¢12.58 for petrol and GH¢13.14 for diesel.

COMAC explained that the expected reductions are mainly driven by a significant drop in global oil prices, which has more than offset the impact of the cedi’s recent depreciation. The Chamber also noted that the decline in prices aligns with seasonal festive demand and market pressures, providing a timely reprieve for Ghanaian consumers.
