It was an emotional moment when Ezra Communications Ltd, operators of Metro FM and Ezra TV in Kumasi on Monday, August 26, 2019, presented a cash donation of GH₵2,030.00, clothes and shoes to a 1-year-old baby boy whose mother dumped him in a pit toilet.

Background

It would be recalled that the mother (name withheld) dumped her son in a pit latrine in their house at Nyanfa-Okaikrom in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti region over hardships and difficulties in taking care of him. She explained that her son's father had refused to take up the responsibilities of the baby boy.

The heartless mum is currently serving her jail term in prison custody over the inhumane act committed.

Donation

The donation was a contribution made by some compassionate individuals in the Kumasi Metropolis and abroad, to support the innocent boy and his caretaker to take good care of him.

The presentation was made on a live worship show, dubbed 'Osom Mmere', hosted by Rev. Alexander Afrifa.

Program Manager of the Adum based radio station, Eric Nana Prekoh was called in, to make the presentation. He extended his profound gratitude to the listers of Metro FM for their kind gestures and advised the caretaker of the boy and the entire family to take good care of him (the boy) since according to Mr. Prekoh, "kids are a gift from God'.

Rev. Afrifa who followed the incident from day one, also expressed his appreciation to Ghanaians, both home and abroad for not disappointing him after he decided to bring up the matter on the radio to raise support for the boy.
