Ghanaian musician Daniel Boakye, popularly known as Dsavv, has been apprehended in France following a high-profile escape from a London hospital, ending his audacious run from law enforcement.
The 21-year-old had initially fled Lewisham Hospital in southeast London, where he was receiving medical treatment while serving a prison sentence in the United Kingdom.
In the days following his escape, Boakye posted a series of videos on social media, taunting authorities and boldly declaring he would neither return to prison nor be deported to Ghana.
His freedom came to a halt on March 2, 2026, when French authorities arrested him in La Bouëxière, a small town with roughly 5,000 residents.
The capture followed coordination with the Metropolitan Police Service in the UK, and arrangements are reportedly underway for his return to Britain.
Boakye was convicted in 2023 for his role in a robbery gang that coerced victims at knifepoint to reveal mobile phone passcodes before stealing cryptocurrency worth approximately £115,000.
The gang also misused victims’ bank accounts for taxi rides and mobile top-up vouchers. He was sentenced to six years and five months in prison.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson previously confirmed the dramatic escape on February 15, 2026, noting that officers had attempted to detain him after he absconded at around 3:05 pm but were unsuccessful.
Dsavv’s arrest in France concludes a brief but sensational international manhunt, marked by his provocative online challenges to authorities and his defiance in the face of justice.
