The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has directed an investigation into allegations that GH₵400,000 was unlawfully withdrawn from the account of a mobile money agent in Kibi.

The directive instructs the Ghana Police Service’s Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to examine claims circulating in a viral video which suggest that some police officers may have been involved in the incident.

According to the police, the alleged victim has already been contacted and is cooperating with investigators as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the reported withdrawal.

In a statement, the Police Service assured the public that the matter is being taken seriously and that the outcome of the investigation will be made known once the probe is completed.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm while the PPSB conducts a thorough review of the allegations.
