Police seize sacks of illicit drugs, shotgun from trader in Sabon-Zongo

Police in Accra have retrieved five sacks filled with various dangerous drugs including high-dose ‘red’ tramadol, Volume 10, and other illegal substances as well as a pump-action shotgun from a 30-year-old trader in Sabon-Zongo, a suburb of Accra.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Amidu Mohammed, is currently facing trial on charges of unlawful possession of arms and illegal drugs.
Addressing the media on Monday, May 26, the Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Duuti Tuaruku, disclosed that the arrest and seizure were made following a tip-off received by the Accra Regional Intelligence Team.
“The suspect has been arraigned before court and is facing charges related to the possession of illicit drugs and an unlicensed firearm,” he stated.
He commended the intelligence team for their swift action and called on the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by providing timely and accurate information.
