An officer of the Ghana Police Service has gone viral after he was secretly filmed rejecting bribe from a commercial driver.

In recent months, many police officers have entered the bad books of Ghanaians due to their exhibition of misconduct in public.

However, that was not the case for Sergeant Felix Koku Tefe, who has earned high praise for his diligence and commitment to work.

In a secretly filed video, the officer is seen stopping a ‘tro tro’ driver who drove past a red traffic light around Alajo in Accra.

But, unsurprisingly, the driver attempted to bribe his way out of the situation by dipping his hand into his pocket to bring out a 2 cedi note.

Sergeant Koku Tefe, who is from the Tesano MTTD, however, stood his ground and rejected the bribe from the driver.

Speaking to UTV after he was told that the episode was secretly filmed, the officer said every policeman is supposed to be upholding the laws rather than compromise them.

“He was coming from carprice, but he moved past the traffic while others were waiting. So I chased him and arrested him right in front of Peace FM.

“He wanted to bribe me but I rejected it. When they cross the red light, they cause accidents all the time. I will take him to the office and ensure his license is seized,” Sergeant Koku Tefe said.
