It has emerged that several factors including poor writing are the cause of delay in the payment of monthly allowances of some national service personnel in the country.

“Sometimes you look at the handwriting, you even find it difficult to pronounce the name”, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Ambrose Enstiwah Jnr revealed.

“We always tell them to write in capital letters, boldly written so that whoever is capturing the thing into the system can also see it”, he advised.

According to the national PRO Ambrose Enstiwah Jnr, there are multiple challenges causing delay of personnel allowances which could come from NSS staff and personnel themselves.

“You are dealing with young people and some of our support staff are also service personnel they are capturing the data and maybe the way he/she sees it is the same way he/she will capture it on the system and it could become a mistake” he explained.

“This is not a defense”, the PRO spoke on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM’s morning show hosted by Lantam Papanko.

Some NSS personnel across the country have in weeks been complaining about the delay in receiving their three months allowances despite their biometric registration onto the system.

But authorities explain that the delay could be a system failure on their part due to wrong information they fed.
