President John Dramani Mahama has called on Muslims and Christians to dedicate three days to fast and pray for the peace of the country ahead of the 7 December polls.

The president suggested the fast should commence today, Friday December 2, and end Sunday December 4.

The president further urged all Ghanaians to dedicate their specific days of worship – Friday, Saturday and Sunday – to pray to God to intercede for Ghana.

A statement signed by Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Communications, said the president believes that through fasting and prayers, supported by appropriate measures and actions on the part of all stakeholders, “our dear nation will once again demonstrate to the world that Ghana is not only the beacon of hope for Africa’s democracy, but also the nation is ready and willing to continue on the path of progress and prosperity for all”.
