President Nana Akufo-Addo has commended Kennedy Agyepong, widely known as Kenpong, for his audacious partnership with French football club Bastia.
On Monday, July 15, 2024, President Akufo-Addo hosted Bastia's Technical Director Eric Joel and Kenpong at the Jubilee House in Accra.
The visit was part of the expatriate club's collaborative program with Kenpong Football Academy.
President Akufo-Addo lauded the efforts of both Eric Joel and Kennedy Agyepong, highlighting the significant potential of their collaboration.
He emphasized that this initiative would greatly benefit the academy, helping it to reach its full potential.
The President assured them of the government's support through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, underscoring the importance of such partnerships in advancing Ghanaian football.
He described Kenpong as a substantial figure and a driving force in the world of sports, both in Ghana and beyond.
In response, Kenpong expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for his support and encouraging words.
The Bastia Technical Director is also expected to pay a courtesy call to former President J.A. Kufuor, who is a patron of Kenpong Football Academy.
Last Sunday, Eric Joel and Kenpong visited the academy in Winneba, further solidifying their commitment to the partnership and the development of young football talent in Ghana.
