Ghana President Akufo-Addo has extended his condolences to the family of former Black Stars striker Junior who died on Thursday. 

The Former Zamalek forward passed on in London at the age of 40.

In a tweet, the President described Junior Agogo as “a fine player” who represented the nation proudly any time he was called up to the national team.

“Saddened by the news of the death of former Black Stars Striker, Junior Agogo. He was a fine footballer, and was always proud to represent our nation. My sincere condolences to his family. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”

Agogo was hospitalized in 2015 after suffering stroke which debilitated him.

He will be remembered for his eye-catching performances for the Black Stars during the 2008 Nations Cup on home soil.
