Ghanaian forward Prince Ampem was the hero for his Croatian side FC Rijeka last Sunday in the match day 12 round of the SuperSport HNL game against Gorica.

Rijeka recorded an impressive 2-0 win away from home at Gorica with the Ghanaian forward having a hand in all two goals in a man-of-the-match performance.

The goals were scored by Ampem and Halilović. It was Rijeka's second win this season, with the first one coming in mid-July.

With this, Gorica fell to last place in the ranking with six points, and Rijeka is in ninth place with nine points.

Rijeka's coach Serse Cosmi set up his team offensively.

Vučkić, Halilović, Ampem, Hodža and right back Grgić played very actively forward and in the first half created several opportunities in the hosts' half.

But none of them was one hundred percent. The only shot on goal for Rijeka was sent by Alen Halilović, and that from quite a long distance. The ball ended up in the hands of Banić.

The hosts missed the best chance in the first half. Ndockyt returned the ball for Fruk in the middle, although he could have gone for the goal himself.

Fruk was in a great position, but he took too long to adjust and fell after a duel in the penalty area. For the referee Duja Strukan, there was no material for a penalty kick, he indicated that it would be a corner for Gorica.

In the second half, Rijeka crowned it with a goal from Prince Ampem  to put the visitors in the lead in the 56th minute.

The ball came to him in a few moves, he was found by the ubiquitous Grgić, and the Rijeka attacker from close range fired with all his strength with his left foot and beat Banić. It was Rijeka's first goal in five games since Cosmi took over, they haven't scored since the beginning of September.

Ampem was largely responsible for Rijeka's second goal. Ndockyt brought him down in his own penalty area in the 65th minute, Strukan considered for a long time whether to watch the video at all, but when he decided to watch it, there was no doubt. Alen Halilović was a reliable kicker from the penalty spot.

Until the end, Cosmi kept the lead by breaking up the game with substitutions. Cruz, who came on for Gorica from the bench, had the best chance to reduce the lead, but missed the ball three meters from the goal. After this match, Gorica has only one win in the season.
