Former President John Dramani Mahama has thrown a challenge to the Nana Akufo-Addo led government to put the him and his wife, Lordina Mahama on trial if indeed they are capable of the crimes they have accused them of.

Former President Mahama who was addressing hundreds of party supporters at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region during the 5th Unity Walk organised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday, January 6, said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) came to power through the lies.

He dared the current government to begin the process of prosecuting his family on all they have been accused of since they have assumed power.

“Thankfully, they are now in power and I will want them to prosecute me and the first lady if it is true the DKM company belonged to us” he dared

Mr. Mahama further indicated that though the office of the Special Prosecutor will not be independent body, he is hopeful that its full implementation would help root out corruption in the public sector.

He added that both past and present public office holders should be subjected to the scrutiny of the Special Prosecutor law.
