The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr Mensah Otabil, has encouraged Ghanaians to pay attention to their talents and pursue them in order to become responsible citizens.
According to him, a lot of people did not pursue their talents and, therefore, ended up in the wrong professions, and that accounted for low productivity at the workplace.
“Some people have found themselves in positions they did not belong to and are unable to perform well when required of them, due to the fact that they do not belong to where they are working.
“There are people who just end up in positions they are not called to be in. We have to do things because we believe this is what God has called us to do. A nurse who is not called a nurse will kill people. A doctor who is not called a doctor will end up killing people. Whatever God has planned for you, he is able to make you that,” he emphasised.
Increase capacity
In a sermon dubbed, “The call to leadership”, Dr Otabil said good leadership would always separate people from the crowd. “It will move you beyond where you are. When God calls you as a leader, you have to move from the bottom to the top,” he stated.
Shalom Temple
The Head Pastor at the Shalom Temple, Rev. William Tsinigo, urged Ghanaians to support the government to implement its plans for the country.
He advised Ghanaians not to depend on the government alone to develop the country, but rather perform their duties diligently for the betterment of the nation.
“We should not sit down and wait for the government to do everything for us. We need to improve ourselves so that we can help others who are around us. We have to change our minds, we need to add value to ourselves,” he said.
Call on government
Rev. Tsinigo also called on the government to consider the poor in the country in their policy implementation, saying: “Our leaders should also know that there are so many poor people in this country and anytime they are planning, they must consider the poor.”
