Medeama SC have now decided to participate in the CAF Confederations Cup competition following a turn of events in the last 24 hours.

The Mauve and Yellows qualified for the 2021/2022 CAF Confederations Cup because they were the only surviving club that had been granted provisional license to participate in the CAF inter-club competition next season after Kotoko exited the MTN FA Cup at the semi final stage.

The Tarkwa based club who finished 5th on the league log decided against participating in African inter club competitions due to what they termed as lack of sporting merit.

Medeama failed in their quest to win their third MTN FA Cup trophy when they were dumped out of the competition at the semi finals stage by Accra Hearts of Oak and by so doing opted against competing in Africa.

But AshGold who are into the finals did not apply for the license to play in Africa and only did so belatedly when they reached the finals of the MTN FA Cup which has been rejected by CAF meaning Medeama can represent Ghana If they so wish.

The club have according to reports rescinded their earlier decision not to participate in Africa with the club holding discussions to compete in Africa next season.
