Team Ghana captain, John Ampomah continued the nation's poor campaign at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil when he failed to qualify for men's javelin finals at dawn.
Ampomah became the 10th Ghanaian athlete to exit the 2016 Olympics in the first round.

The national record holder finished 19th out of 37 starters with a throw of 80.39 metres, missing the final by 1.57m.

Ampomah was hopeful of reversing a disappointing trend which has seen all Ghanaian athletes crash-out in the first round of their events.

Team Ghana will hence be hoping to make a final impression this afternoon when the women’s 4x100 which include Janet Amponsah, Gemma Acheampong, Beatrice Gyaman and Akua Obeng-Akrofi take to the track.
