2016 Grammy nominated reggae artiste, Rocky Dawuni has named Becca, Efya and Wiyaala as his Top 3 female artistes in Ghana.

According to the Ghanaian music legend, there are incredibly talented female vocalists in Ghana who need enough support to be able to reach the top.

Speaking on 3FM's Drive time show, Rocky Dawuni said he recently featured two female artistes-Ghana’s Wiyaala and Argentina’s Alika- on his new album.

He admitted that his achievement on the international music stage paved way for many other Ghanaian artistes including the BET award-winning Stonebwoy.

It will be recalled that Branches of the Same Tree by Rocky Dawuni was nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Reggae Album category in 2016.

Dawuni, was the only non-Jamaican artiste in the running that year and the first Ghanaian to be nominated.

He was up against some of the heavyweights of modern reggae including Morgan Heritage, Luciano, Jah Cure and Barrington Levy.

He has worked with international foundations including Product (RED), UNICEF, the Carter Center, and the UN Foundation.

He also joined Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights’s Leadership Council four years ago and his tracks has been featured on the world’s most popular Games; “African Thriller” on FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014, “African Soccer Fever” on FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010.

Rocky Dawuni and Stonebwoy recently collaborated to create “Wickedest Sound”, a single from Rocky’s 7th album ‘Beats of Zion’, which is set to be released today, March 8, 2019 in commemoration of Ghana’s 62nd independence anniversary.

The single is a heavy Afro influenced production with a hint of Reggae and Dancehall.
