Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United(RTU) are in real danger of forfeiting their match day 26 clash against relegation fodder Elmina Sharks.

The Tamale based side like many other  teams in the league are struggling financially to cater for the expenditure of their travels.

Despite beating Asante Kotoko 2-1 last Sunday, the pride of the North are in real danger of dropping into the Division One as they are in the relegation zone.

In what is seen by many as a relegation six pointer between RTU and Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Stadium, RTU are struggling to make the trip.

Head coach of the side, Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko on Wednesday morning laid bare the dire financial position of the club in an interview with Asempa FM, as he says that they are owing winning bonus for their last win before the Kotoko one and only settled their three month salary arrears few weeks ago through a benevolent individual.

He admits that even the settling of the salary arrears led to squabbles in the team as players realised that others were taking higher salaries than them.

Coach Tanko also added that they sometimes travel for away game 24hours to the match citing that their match against Ashgold in Obuasi they arrive the morning before the fixture from Tamale which is unhealthy and not the ideal situation.

The RTU coach admits that he has a very promising team but their poor finances has been their bane which may drag them into relegation.

According to the clubs PRO, Sey Mubarak, the technical team and management team have not been paid any salaries for months now

RTU will play their next game against Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Stadium on Sunday.
