The National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has said the party does not take lightly, the prophecy of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah on the outcome of the December 7 election.

According to him, the NDC places a 100% premium on the prophecy.

Mr Gyamfi said this on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen, programme Thursday that, the NDC is not bothered by all the controversies the prophecy has generated.

The founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries on October 1, prophesied that the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama would emerge victorious in the 2024 elections.

Background

During a prayer session in Accra for Mr Mahama, Rev Owusu Bempah claimed that God had chosen to give the former another opportunity to lead the nation due to his kind heart.

However, some political actors, particularly from the NPP has said such predictions should be viewed as mere human projections rather than divine certainty.

Others have also asserted it is from a place of pain and anger over the man of God’s perceived neglect by the NPP.

However, Mr Gyamfi has rubbished all these criticisms, questioning what Rev Owusu Bempah seeks to gain with a fake prophecy.

According to him, Rev. Owusu Bempah is not the only prophet who has predicted the NDC’s victory but they will not be complacent, instead work diligently.

He emphasised that, all three major indicators in election prediction thus the polls, people and prophets are speaking in favour of the NDC.

“I don’t understand the controversy and talk about this issue. If you don’t agree with him, nobody is forcing you to listen to him. I don’t think anybody anticipated that prophecy will come during the event. He heard the voice of God and declared it.

“Everything shows that John Mahama is winning and winning big. The polls say so the prophets have said so, and the people have said so,” he said.

Meanwhile, the NPP Women’s Organiser, Kate Gyamfuah has announced the wing will from Monday October 6 to Wednesday October 9, embark on fasting and prayers to over the prophecy which she has asserted is not from God.
