Samsung’s confirmation that it’s entering the world of artificial intelligence shouldn’t be a concern for Amazon and Google, given how late the Korean tech giant is entering into the market.
But that head start could quickly evaporate thanks to Samsung’s extensive range of home appliances. Washing machines, fridges, cookers, TVs and practically everything else will likely ship with the new AI developed by Viv Labs, which Samsung recently acquired.
A quote from Dag Kittlaus, CEO of Viv Labs, in the Korea Herald was fairly clear.
“(The AI platform) not only will work on smartphones, but will work with home appliances that you can also interact with, in your daily lives”.
He continued,
“the focus is to make it work as a ‘connected technology,’ which will extend to all sorts of devices that users work on or use ”.Source: FORBES
