Ghana's Samuel Obeng has won more trust from Real Oviedo, extending his contract with the Spanish side in a three year deal.

The 22-year-old striker signed his new contract with Oviedo in recent days and yesterday the club made official an agreement reached weeks ago whereby the striker will be with the Blues for three more seasons, until 2023.

By duration, Obeng's is one of the contracts longest of the blue club in this last stage in Second Division. In fact, only Joselu beats him, who signed for Oviedo in 2018 for four seasons, although finally he was only one and a half and left on loan to Tenerife in January. Ziganda has been key in the continuity of Obeng, who is already for all intents and purposes a first-team player after signing his new contract.

He signed the contract on Sunday after negotiations concluded successfully after it started last month.

Obeng was offered the new contract as his previous deal with the club was set to expire at the end of the month.

He was offered the new contract thanks to his excellent performances for the Segunda club last term.

With the new season looming Ovideo have moved to tie from down for the next three years to properly secure his future.

The Ghanaian, who joined the ranks of Real Oviedo last season, has earned a place in Cuco Ziganda's first team.
