Tema-based rapper now turned preacher, Yaw Siki, has indicated that sometimes he has the urge to return to doing secular music because of the heights some of his former colleagues had attained in the industry.

According to a report, the preacher made the revelation while speaking in an interview with Johnnie Hughes on TV3's 'New Day' show.

He said among other things that he was sometimes tempted to go back to writing secular songs and also make waves like some musicians were doing.

Yaw Siki said seeing some of the musicians who he started with like Sarkodie, R2Bees and the rest, he was confident he would have been way up there with them living the kind of life they lived.

"Honestly sometimes when I am there and I see some of the musicians I started with, and I see they are at certain levels, I feel that if I were there, I would have been up too, but I remember that I have a mission to fulfill, and that is what is more important, because many people will be blessed,” Yaw Siki said.

He however revealed that he did not find fulfillment in writing and singing secular music because during his time as a rapper, he was "empty".

The pastor said he was sure of not returning to do secular music which he had come to see as an unfulfilling venture. He reiterated that preaching the word of God made him happy because he was saving people.

“I am not going back, even though I am tempted to, even though I am tested to, even though there are things that want me to go back, I am not going back because I am not fulfilled there…I wasn’t fulfilled, I was empty, when I came to Christ, preaching…. these works make me fulfilled,” he told Johnnie Hughes, host of the morning show.

The Tema-based pastor made a resolution to stop writing secular music after he was involved in a near fatal accident on the Tema-Motorway on April 15, 2013.

The accident caused the pastor to be hospitalized for months with very little chance of survival.

According to him, doctors had said he would undergo a critical medical procedure with a 50-50 chance of survival.

Yaw Siki claimed he was healed by God after he prayed for forgiveness and healing. It was at that point that he decided to quit secular music and win souls for Christ.
