Sassuolo continued their impressive start to the season as they picked up a convincing 3-1 win over Empoli to climb to second in the Serie A at the Mapei Stadium.

After their narrow 2-1 defeat to Juventus, Sassuolo looked to comeback to winning ways against Empoli, who returned from a 1-0 loss to Lazio at the weekend.

The Blues got off to a flying start and got the lead through Francesco Caputo after just 18 seconds at the Mapei Stadium before Boateng levelled the scored 13 minutes later- his third in five matches.

Second half goals from Gian Marco Ferrar and Federico Di Francesco ensured the home team cruised to a comfortable victory.

The result moves Sassuolo into second place on the table, two points behind Juventus, who will look to extend their perfect record at Frosinone on Sunday.
