Head coach of the Black Stars Otto Addo has revealed that player selection for September in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Angola will be very difficult.

This is because it will be the last competitive game Ghana will play for heading to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana placed third after defeating Chile 3-1 on penalties with nine men but suffered the ignominy of a heavy 4-1 defeat in their opening game against Japan

Addo revealed that he is satisfied with the performance of the Black Stars at the just ended Kirin Cup where Ghana placed third after beating Chile 3-1 on penalties.

He adds that selection for September's games against Angolan will be very difficult as it will be the last competitive game before the World Cup in November.

"This makes it difficult for me to choose the players for the next window [in September] and this will be the last window before the World Cup but any decision will be with me. We will decide which players come in or not."

Ghana is expected to hand debut call ups to a raft of foreign born players for September's AFCON qualifiers meaning that some players in the current team will be dropped.
