Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Afia Tenge is a liar, and, thus, according to Peace FM journalist, Nana Yaa Konadu.

According to the popular broadcaster, Ghanaians cannot trust a state institution whose officer could lie to a larger extent.

Her comments come after the Ghana Police Service issued a statement condemning a video circulating on social media, showing a police officer assaulting a nursing mother at Midland Savings and Loans in Accra.

Afia Tenge in an interview on Peace News, Friday evening said: "the police administration is going to investigate the case and if it comes out to be true that the officer really assaulted the lady, we would not sit over it".

But Nana Yaa Konadu believes although the Police Administration had condemned the act, Afia Tenge was in a way trying to 'do cover up', a situation she finds very 'shameful'.

"After issuing this statement, Afia Tenge was on peacefm with her defend at all cost pr gimmick. If you have an officer who lie and do cover up like this, how can you trust the service. Shameful", she fumed.

Meanwhile the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery has described the video as “wicked” and “barbaric” and wants justice to be served.

The officer involved, Lance Corporal Frederick Godzi Amanor, popularly known as Skalla has since been arrested and is behind bars.
