Shatta Wale awarded Key to the City of Worcester

Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah popularly known as Shatta Wale has been awarded by the Mayor with the keys to the City of Worcester, Massachusetts.

Shatta Wale was given the honor yesterday after performing in the city as part of his 'afterthestorm' tour of the USA.

Mayor of Worcester Joseph Petty presented the award to the 'Ayoo' hitmaker in recognition of his contributions to the arts  and for honoring the city of Worcester with his presence.

The multi award winning artiste  went into a musical hiatus until he re-branded himself to Shatta Wale and released his song "Dancehall King" in 2013, which became a hit. He is the leader, chief executive officer (CEO) and founder of the Shatta Movement (SM) or (SM4LYF).

Although very much a controversial figure, Wale has grown to be a respected brand, for his talent, entertainment, creativity and depth.

He has won several awards both internationally and locally  including Artist of the Year in the 2014 edition of the Ghana Music Awards.. His most recent hits include 'Taking Over' 'Hossana', 'Forgetti' and many more. He is currently regarded by many as the number one entertainer in the country.
