Multiple award-winning dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has admitted that he has a sizable investment in embattled gold trading company, Menzgold Ghana Limited, YEN.com.gh has learnt.

Shatta Wale, who is signed onto Zylofon Media, the entertainment company owned by Menzgold Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Appiah Mensah, indicated that he was “very much” into the business when asked if he had invested in the company.

“I’m very much [into investment]. I’m number one, the whole Ghana,” he added.

The 'Dem Confuse' singer however did not state the amount he had invested with the embattled gold hub.

He called on the government to dialogue with the owners of the company in order to find a cordial resolution to the current impasse, which saw the company shut down its operations temporarily.

Shatta Wale stated that the harsh economic conditions Ghanaians faced now could drive them into crime and went on to appeal to the government to address the current economic concerns.

Menzgold Ghana Limited and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have been all over the place after the latter earlier in September ordered Menzgold to suspend its gold trading operations with the public.

Menzgold heeded to SEC and suspended its gold vault activities and dividend payments earlier in September and promised to resume work on September 19.

However, a communication coming from Menzgold revealed that inconclusive talks with SEC was going to result in an extension of their suspension to September 28.

Following the issues surrounding the gold hub, award-winning journalist, Israel Laryea, came out with a video report about findings he made from the Menzgold branch in UK.

The report got to Nana Appiah Mensah, affectionately called NAM1 and he angrily attacked the journalist over his report.

Award-winning gospel act, Joyce Blessing, also took to social media to tear a fan into pieces after he name popped up in the Menzgold brouhaha.

Young Ghanaian millionaire, Ibrah One, has also put his life on the line and has indicated his readiness of ending it all should Menzgold return to business on the promised date of September 28.

This followed an allegation he made about how Nana Appiah Mensah spent the monies of Menzgold's clients.

Nana Appiah Mensah however came out to hit back at Ibrah One and revealed why he was desperately trying to discredit his work.
