German born winger of Ghanaian descent Jamie Leweling is a man in demand in Germany as several clubs are interested in signing the player.

According to German newspaper Sport Bild, the Gruther Furth midfielder valued at 4.5million euros has attracted  interest from half a dozen Bundesliga clubs.

Clubs such as Union Berlin, Frankfurt, Mainz, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim, Gladbach) are all after the German U21 international.

Fürth boss Rachid Azzouzi (51) knows about the desires that the striker has aroused in other clubs. He says: "Jamie is one of the outstanding players of his year."

But that should also be reflected in the price. It is unlikely that Leweling will fulfill his contract in Fürth which expires in 2024. But he himself declines.

When asked by BILD, Leweling said: "I don't want to know anything about it. In my first year, I made the mistake of diverting interest from other clubs. I just want to play football.”

Two years ago, after strong performances in the second division, top clubs like Tottenham were even close to Leweling.

After that, however, he fell into a performance hole in the year of promotion. The English side jumped off. Now at least the jump to another Bundesliga team seems to be successful.

In October 2020 the Nuremberg born player of  Ghanaian descent was handed a Black Stars call up in an AFCON  2021 qualifier double header against Sudan by then coach C.K Akonnor upon advise from GFA technical director Bernard Lippert but he rejected the invitation.
