You don’t have to bring poison into your home or kill insects to get rid of them.

There are a few smart things you can do to keep them away.

According to PETA, there are more humane ways to rid your home of bugs and stuff.

Most of these insects do not actually realize they are invading your space so squishing them isn’t the only way.

In fact, some insects, like bees, are actually very important to the ecosystem so killing them will do us, as humans, more harm than good.

Prevent them from entering your home

If you really want to keep insects away, you have to keep them from entering your home in the first place.

You must ensure that all your dishes are washed, foods are covered and there is no open trash hanging around.

You must also wipe all the countertops with a solution of vinegar and water.

Clean your house regularly as well, and they won’t consider your abode the best place to get food.

How to get rid of ants

You can actually repel ants from entering your home using a more humane method than stomping on them.

PETA suggests pouring a line of cream tartar at the cracks in doors and windows and they won’t be able to cross over it. Other stuff that can repel ants includes coffee grinds, chili pepper, and dry peppermint leaves.

You can get out large bugs too

Spiders, cockroaches, and centipedes may seem scary but chances are, they are more frightened of you than you are of them.

So before going on the attack.

Consider a more gentle method. You can try using a cup and a sheet of paper. Place the cup over them and slide the paper gently under the cup. Take it outside and release that sucker into the wild.

Gently get rid of bees

Internet user @beemanhiveremovals who shared a post on Medium gave a few tips about how to get rid of bees from your home. The company specializes in the removal of beehives and swarms.

The first thing to do is to locate the beehive. Usually, when you encounter two or more bees in or around your home, there’s a hive somewhere near.

Once you find the beehive, you can gently nudge the bees out by using smoke and insense. Once you get them away, remove the hive and wash off any traces of honey so they won’t be attracted to that spot again.

Keep in mind that bees are attracted to open water sources like leaking tanks and taps. Ensure you don’t have these in and around your house. Your goal is to make them uncomfortable because once enough of them gather and they get comfy, they will never leave. So, always be on the lookout.

Get rid of mosquitoes and flies without killing them

OneGreenPlanet suggests some gentler ways of repelling mosquitoes. Some plants like lemongrass, mint, and citronella are capable of keeping mosquitoes away. You can also use them to make natural sprays that will deter the mosquitoes but won’t kill them.

You can use the glass/piece of paper method catch a fly and then let it out outside. You can also open a window and sort of corral them out of your home. Flies are usually trying to find their way out anyway. So simply leave a window open and give them a chance to get out on their own.

As you can see, violence is not the only way to rid your home of pests and insects. Hope some of these tips were useful for you.
