Burkinabe import Sogne Yacouba has touched down in Kumasi after several request and letters from the management of the club urging him to do so.

The mercurial striker has been at odds with the management of the club with regards to his contract extension as well as his quest to seek pastures anew from the Kumasi based club.

He touched down last night around 11pm and is currently lodging at the Sports Hotel his abode for his entire stay in Kumasi.

The striker is scheduled to hold meetings with the clubs management to decided the next line of action.

Kotoko have been without the striker since the  completion of the Normalization Cup matches and played against Nigerian side Kano Pillars without him.

Background

In a response to Asante Kotoko's letter to Burkinabe International Songne Yacouba notifying him of his persistent misconduct,Songne Yacouba has apologised to the management of the club for his behaviour and has stated he is ready to extend his contract should the porcupines show such interest.

According to information gathered,management of Kotoko queried the striker asking him to explain to management why disciplinary actions should not be taken against him suggesting to Songne Yacouba that on several occassions he has shown gross disregard to directives given him especially refusing to report for training since July 2019.

In the said letter management stressed that was the final warning given him.

The Striker's contract with Kotoko will expire on April 1 ,2020 but both parties are yet to come to terms on an agreement.

Meanwhile Asante Kotoko have stepped up preparations as they face Kano Pillars in the second leg of the preliminary stage of the Caf Champions League with the first game ending 3-2 in favour of the host.

The second leg crash will come off on Saturday 24th August at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
