The Minister for Sports, Arts and Culture for South Africa, Nathi Mthetwa has sent a message of congratulations to the Bafana Bafana for their 1-0 win over Ghana on Monday.

Bafana Bafana defeated Ghana by a lone goal after drawing 0-0 in their opening game against Zimbabwe in Harare.

In a statement released by the Ministry for Sports, Arts and Culture of South Africa they congratulated the young looking South African team for their efforts.

"Congratulations to our youngest looking Bafana Bafana who proved to be too much for the 90 minutes. This result will go a long way in giving hope to a nation that has been starved of victories."

I so hope that as a nation we can give our youngsters the much needed by standing up in large numbers and getting vaccinated so that when they play their final qualifiers , they are able to play in the presence of our passionate supporters" the statement read.

South Africa will next play against Ethiopia on October 6, 2021 in a home and away basis as they seek to cement their grip at the top.
