Communications Director of Zylofon Music Record Label, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, has reacted to reports claiming BET Award Winning Dancehall Artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, stage name Stonebwoy has finally left the label after signing a deal with Universal Music Group.

He disclosed that the ‘Bawasaaba’ hit singer is still a signee of the Zylofon Music Label despite news of the artiste joining the Universal Music Group few days ago.

Asamoah-Baidoo disclosed in an interview with Hitz FM that Stonebwoy’s deal with Universal Music Group is to mainly help with the marketing of their artiste’s products globally.

He further stated that, Zylofon Music’s relationship with the BHIM Nation President is still stagnant and flourishing with no change or disagreement.

“Stonebwoy is still signed onto Zylofon Music, I mean nothing has changed. If you know very well about artistes and record labels, you’ll know that artistes can sign on to multiple record labels of their preference. For example, Drake is signed onto eight to ten record labels, Kendrick Lamar is also signed on to five record labels. Every label is assigned to what is supposed to do. So it’s allowed in the industry for an artiste to sign on to different record labels and to sign on to a distribution or publishing deal, it’s very much allowed. Zylofon Music and Stonebwoy still has that partnership, nothing has changed at all. We’ve only signed an extension to Universal Music Group. We’ve given a distribution of Stonebwoy’s product to a bigger label who we think has the capacity and resources to a wider consumer base and international market.” He said.

He further said that, Stonebwoy signing on to Universal Music Group is a plus for them and the artiste himself as they look forward to a fruitful relationship amongst themselves to promote the artiste’s music to as far as possible.

Also, Stonebwoy who is currently on “Epistles of Mama World Tour” in Europe reacted to same reports claiming he has finally parted ways with Zylofon in a tweet, “I am STILL with ZYLOFON MUSIC.. And We Have Signed A Deal With Universal Music Group!! Get Ready For Unlimited Speed”.
